Japanese Language and Japanese Studies CoursesJapanese

The Center offers the following Japanese Language and Japanese Studies courses to meet the needs of International Students.

Japanese Language Courses

The Japanese language Courses range from level 1 for beginners to level 6 for advanced learners, offering about 25 units which cover grammar, conversation, reading and writing skills. Advanced courses cater for those who need to improve skills such as oral presentation and academic writing; classes are usually small and lecturers are attentive to student needs and range of language acquisition abilities.

Students who already have some knowledge of Japanese and who wish to enrol in Japanese language courses are required to sit for a placement test before those courses commence.

All Japanese language courses are open to all international students at Oita University.

Japanese Studies Courses

Introductory courses on Japanese culture and intercultural understanding are offered from the Center, so students who even have not been to Japan before or have very little knowledge of it can enjoy learning Japanese culture and society here at Oita University.
